Where We Began
Linda started her career at the tender age of 16 having spent a week of work experience at Celebration Cake Shop (formerly part of Murdochs Bakery). She was encouraged to pursue her talents in cake decorating by both her family & colleagues and worked her way up to manageress of the shop by the age of 20. The opportunity to buy the cake shop came her way in 1992 and her dream became a reality.
The first shop opened on the 9th February 1993 on Rosemount Place. Always looking to improve the service and customer experience Linda then moved to her new store 137 Crown Street in 2001. This store has kept the open working area as part of its charm but also includes a private room for wedding consultations.
Having been diagnosed as wheat & dairy intolerant over 10 years ago, Linda realised there was a growing need for this type of product and in 2015 converted a room in the store solely for this purpose and so “Linda’s Baking Without” began. Producing a variety of gluten free, dairy free & nut free cakes, traybakes & desserts.
